RED‑Scue is a Finalist for Pitch the Co-Packer 2026! 🎉

We’re beyond thrilled to announce that RED‑Scue has been selected as one of four finalists for Pitch the Co-Packer 2026!

For context, the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) in Birmingham, UK, is one of Europe’s largest event venues, hosting major trade shows and competitions for entrepreneurs, innovators, and product creators. Pitch the Co-Packer is a national competition for food and beverage startups where finalists present their products to potential manufacturers, co-packers, investors, and leading UK retailers — including Aldi, Morrisons, Waitrose, M&S, Tesco, and more. Being selected as a finalist means RED‑Scue was chosen from hundreds of entries across the UK and Europe — a huge vote of confidence in the product, the science, and the mission.

From a tiny kitchen experiment to an award-winning, patent-pending nutrition product, this journey has been driven by one mission: to support athletes with REDs (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) and ensure no one has to struggle alone with under-fuelling.

RED‑Scue was born from my own experience as a national-level athlete. After tearing my Achilles and discovering the impact of REDs on my body, I spent years searching for practical, portable nutrition that could help me recover — and couldn’t find it. That frustration became the spark for RED‑Scue: a ready-to-use, high-carb, nutrient-complete fuelling jar designed to restore energy, support recovery, and optimize both physical and cognitive performance.

The Science Behind RED‑Scue:

Carbohydrates are essential fuel: Studies show that at intensities above ~80 % VO₂max, carbs provide >80 % of energy via muscle glycogen and blood glucose. Fat alone cannot sustain high-intensity performance.
RED-S is widespread: ~44–63 % of endurance athletes experience RED-S or low energy availability (LEA), leading to hormonal disruption, injury, and performance decline. Only ~4 % of athletes meet carbohydrate recommendations, and ~95.8 % of active people under-fuel relative to their training demands.
Low-carb diets reduce power: Langfort et al. (1997) found that even a 3-day low-carb diet (≤5 % carbs) reduced anaerobic power, altered metabolic and hormonal responses, and increased stress hormones — showing how critical carbs are for recovery and performance.
Cognitive performance: Adequate carbohydrate intake supports memory, concentration, and motivation — critical for high-functioning athletes, students, and professionals who push hard physically and mentally.

Since our first jar, RED‑Scue has grown rapidly: we’ve beta-tested with athletes, received incredible feedback, been stocked in pilot stores, pitched at Co-Create London in front of Sara Davies and Rio Ferdinand, and even been recognized as Top 30 out of 25,000 product innovations in Europe.

Being named a finalist for Pitch the Co-Packer 2026 is another huge step toward our goal of scaling RED‑Scue, expanding direct-to-consumer subscriptions, and reaching more athletes, students, and busy active professionals who need convenient, accessible fuel when access is limited.

This isn’t just about a product — it’s about building a community, raising awareness for REDs, and creating real change in sports nutrition. RED‑Scue is pioneering in this space, combining science, accessibility, and practical fuelling for people who otherwise struggle to meet their energy needs.

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported RED‑Scue so far — from beta testers to early adopters, partners, and fellow athletes. Your feedback, belief, and encouragement make everything possible.

Here’s to the next stage of growth, innovation, and helping athletes and active people fuel without fear! 💛

See you on February 12!
