Global RED-S Awareness
Day: 21ST NOVEMBER
Week: 17-22ND NOVEMBER
Month: NOVEMBER
Certified by Sport England & Supported by RED-S Specialists: Dr Nicky Keay & Renee McGregor.
It aims to educate athletes, coaches, healthcare professionals, and active individuals about the dangers of chronic under-fuelling, which can affect energy, hormones, bones, immunity, and performance.
The day encourages:
~Understanding the signs of low energy availability (LEA) before serious consequences arise
~Promoting evidence-based fuelling strategies for endurance, team, and recreational athletes
~Breaking the stigma around discussing nutrition, energy, and recovery in sport
~Highlighting holistic approaches that combine sports science, ancestral food traditions, and alternative medicine perspectives like Qi and Ayurveda
At RED-Scue, we founded this initiative because awareness is the first step to preventing injuries, improving performance, and restoring energy — not with quick fixes, pills, or protein obsession, but with real, consistent, nutrient-dense fuelling.
